My Holiday Makeup Bag

Hello everyone! I'm actually going away in a couple of days to the place that is paradise on earth...Tenerife. I am VERY excited about this holiday and I thought I would put together a little blog post about my makeup bag and all those beauty essentials that I will be taking with me. 

My bag is a cute little (well, not so little) Ted Baker makeup bag. I got this for around £26 I believe, but despite the steep price, it is honestly worth every penny. It is very well made, fits a heap-load of stuff inside and well, it's Ted Baker. What's not to like? 

I'm taking two different base products with me, both of which were featured in my "Beautiful Bases for Summer" blog post (read it here). The No7 Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser is a real winner for me. It gives excellent coverage and it feels nice and light on the skin. The fact it contains SPF 15 will also protect you from those gorgeous rays of sun. The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream has been a fave of mine this month. Though the coverage isn't too great, it's a nice solution that's easy to wear and not tacky and short-lasting in the slightest. 

I'm taking both my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer as the two mixed together will give me the perfect shade for my tanned skin (yes I am being hopeful!) 

For my cheeks, I'm taking my much-loved Mac mineralise blush in the shade "Dainty" which is a nice wearable, peachy pink! I'm also going to be using my Mac Soft and Gentle Mineralise Skinfinish as it's perfect to wear on an evening when I'm going somewhere nice! As well, the highlighter can be used for a number of things, for example, as an eye shadow, so products that have multiple purposes and uses are excellent to take on holiday! My No7 Dual Bronzer was a real must-have as I'd love to look like a bronzed goddess (though I very much doubt that will happen). And finally, I will most certainly NEED my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. Being in a very hot climate, I'm sure to start emanating shininess like the sun so I need my powder to keep the shininess at bay. 

For my eyes I have selected my Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara as it contains both a lower lash and an upper lash wand. Two in one is nice and compact which obviously leaves more space for more things. Perfect in my eyes. As always, I will stay loyal to my Nars Brow Perfector and I will be bringing my silver Collection Dazzling Gel liner for those nights I want to look a bit more glam! 

I 100% knew that my Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette would certainly be coming on holiday with me. Palettes are perfect for taking away with you as they are compact yet present great versatility. The Naked 1 palette is my favourite item of makeup. The 12 shades range from mattes to shimmers, from warm colours to cool colours. The colours work really well together and can give you a number of different eye looks. It also comes with a liner which is very handy. 

I have selected these three mac lipsticks to take with me. The lip products take up a large proportion of my makeup bag as you simply never know what colour you might fancy on the day. It's best to be prepared!

I am also going to be taking my Nars Pure Matte lipstick in the shade "Peloponnese". I simply could not live without my Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in the shade "107". Everyone needs a strikingly nice red in their makeup bag. Finally, I have my Tanya Burr lipgloss in the shade "Chic", as I really wanted a nude lipgloss. 

I have a mixture of both Eco Tools and Real Techniques makeup brushes to take with me. From left to right: Real Techniques Blusher brush, Real Techniques Foundation brush, Eco Tools Brow brush, Eco Tools Concealer brush, Eco Tools Eyeshadow brush, Eco Tools Angled Liner brush, Eco Tools Blusher brush. 

And that so happens to be everything I am taking (I am certain I will have forgotten something!) 

This has become an unusually long post but I don't intend to crop it down too much as I won't be blogging over the next two weeks whilst I am away. Don't worry though guys, I have plenty of blog posts planned and a lot of photo taking will be done on holiday, so stay tuned for the holiday related posts to come! On Sunday, me, my parents and my brother ventured to a little town called Berverley in Yorkshire. It's not quite the Beverley Hills of the UK but anyways, it was a rather cute little town and I got to wear my cute new Warehouse hat, which I was very happy about!

Summer Look Book

If you watch my YouTube channel, you may have seen my Summer Lookbook which I uploaded a couple of weeks back (you can watch it here: http://youtu.be/rjUCBLpdY-M ). I rather spontaneously decided I would blog about my three different looks. 

My first and probably my favourite outfit is this green tropical-print playsuit from Oasis. I've never been one to shop in Oasis, but after Mollie King from The Saturdays released her debut clothing range 'Loved By Mollie' in the store (Review here-http://goo.gl/rZj8ll ), I just can't seem to stay away from it. This playsuit is perfect for Summer. The tropical palm tree pattern is very on-trend and I love the belt that comes with it. I paired this with my ever so comfy black toms, which have been a summer favourite of mine for many years. Comfy and stylish. 

In my next outfit, I am sporting all Loved By Mollie items (minus the converse). The white lace tee is my fashion fave at the minute. I like it that much I went out and bought the red version! I paired it with another tropical themed item- the shorts! They are SUPER cute and colourful and I love the parrots! For me, Summer wouldn't be Summer without a pair of converse. I LOVE my sparkly converse which I got for Christmas. I realise they are a love hate item but personally I think they're great! I love quirky things like that. 

My final Summer outfit is very casual and would be nice to wear on those warm summer days where the sun isn't too overpowering. In this look, my outfit appears to be all Warehouse (minus the shoes)! The yellow top is so light and bright, though I must admit, it attracts various flying insects which is not so lovely. For me, wearing trousers that are A) Not jeans and B) Aren't 3/4 patterned trousers was a bit daunting. But I've really grown to love these as they are honestly so easy to work with! The sandals are from Office. I thought they were an easy way to make this outfit more summer-friendly! And if you're wondering, my watch is a rose-gold watch by Marc Jacobs, which I absolutely adore!

Beautiful Bases for Summer

Usually, when it gets to Summer, I'm always faced with the uncertaintity of not knowing what to wear on my face. Do I go for a foundation? Or maybe something with light coverage? Sometimes (very, VERY often), I will step out wearing only concealer. The dilemmas we girls face ey?!

 I have selected three different base products that I think are perfect for Summer. Whether you're going for something that gives a very natural finish or you want a gorgeous glow, I know the three perfect products for you! 

1) Tinted Moisteriser. This is my best friend during those hot and humid days when you really just can't be bothered to cover your face in heaps of foundation. I personally really like using the No7 Triple Protection Tinted Moisteriser. It gives excellent coverage and though it feels like a moisturiser, it works more like a foundation. And it has SPF 15! WIN! Though I must say, last time I checked there are only three different shades, so being a pale alien, I have to mix this with other foundations and moisturisers. 

2) BB Cream. I have been loving this Body Shop All-In-One BB cream. At first, I wasn't sure. It gives extremely light coverage and me being a person who can look like the walking dead at the best of times, was unsure whether £12 was justifiable. However, with the right amount of concealer, this can work wonders. It makes my skin look healthy and you bearly feel it on your face. This is the perfect combination for Summer. 

3) Foundation. I had to include at least one foundation in this post. I also had to include an unfocused photo (sorry, I'm not technically awesome at the minute). Nars Sheer Glow is my all time favourite foundation. THIS gives your skin the perfect glow. The coverage is excellent. It is worth every penny. Bravo Nars.

Summer Lips

Hello everyone! I have selected five of my favourite lip products from both high-end and drugstore that I know I will be using A LOT of over the summer! 

First of all I have a trusty mac lipstick. This post wouldn't be a post without a bit of mac! The one I have selected is an Amplified lipstick in the shade "Chatterbox" (A24). It's the perfect pinky shade for Summer and I love it very much. 

Secondly, I have selected one of my favourite Tanya Burr Lipglosses. This one is in the shade "Picnic in the Park", the top best seller! Glossy lips are really in this year, and I love love LOVE this. The fact it smells of strawberries is also really summery and nice and fruity! 

I am in love with my one and only Nars Pure Matte lipstick in the shade "Peloponnese". The colour is actually more of a nude on the lips (contrary to the image), which is perfect for an everyday basis. It also has a slight gold tint to it which I really like! I think this colour suits me most. And though it is a pure matte lipstick, usually it is not drying which is fabulous! I've also included a picture of me wearing it which was taken from my summer Lookbook (see previous post on how to find it). 

Now I have the mighty Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in the shade "Audacious" (245). These balms have had a revolutionary takeover this year! They last for hours on your lips and the colours are so vibrant! A real facial statement! 

Finally (I'm guessing you're tired of staring at pictures of my fists haha!) I have one of my much adored No7 lipsticks. This lipstick was actually my favourite lipstick of 2013! YES, IT'S A GOOD ONE. It is called "Coral Whisper" and it contains SPF 15. Now THAT deserves a round of applause everyone.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Mac Soft and Gentle Mineralise Skinfinish

Hello everyone! Today I am feeling super excited. That can only mean one thing..This is a mac product review! 

Mac makeup is in every girls dreams. This year my mac collection has certainly grown! The newest addition to that collection and today's 'reviewee' being the Mac Soft and Gentle Mineralise Skinfinish, or as I like to call it, the highlighter from heaven! 

Prior to getting this, I've never really bothered much with highlighters and have never included them in my everyday makeup routine. THIS amazing product has changed my mind! Wearing this highlighter makes all the difference in the world. I mostly apply it to my cheekbones and it gives great definition. However, sometimes I pop it onto the brow bone to UP my brow game! On the skin it gives a radiant shine, which I have found works really well on camera! Nothing like a bit of self promotion ey ; ) But seriously, this picture really shows the high shine it gives. It can really structure the face and make any makeup look! 

This mac highlighter cost me £23. Not cheap but not entirely unaffordable. Once you have it in your makeup drawer (it sits nicely in my Muji storage) it will last you months, if that's at all reassuring.

"Loved By Mollie" S/S14 Collection

Mollie King. 1/5 of girl group The Saturdays. Apart from travelling the world and being the most down-to-earth celeb there is, she also has an eye for all things fashion. I am a massive fan of The Saturdays. Mollie is my favourite member and alongside Emma Watson (who I talked about in my previous blogpost) she is a fashion role model of mine. She's classy, sophisticated and simply stunning! 

The pop starlet released her A/W13 "Loved By Mollie" collection with Oasis last year. There was nothing but praise for the collection and anticipation for her next release. The Spring/Summer collection (which was in fact released only yesterday in selected stores and online) is quite frankly AMAZING. It is very on-trend and very Mollie-esque! 

After much deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that THIS is my favourite outfit from the collection so far (also the dearest might I add!). This 50s style stripey skirt (£45) is my new obsession, and I can't help but watch as these classy midi-skirts pile up inside my wardrobe. The Amanda Cuff Lock sandals (£45) look surprisingly comfortable with the chunky heel- a must for this Spring! - and the blue leather cropped top (£80) is simply gorgeous, and also a top that can be worn with anything out of your wildest dreams...jeans, shorts, you name it! 

Summer is fast approaching, and you can't beat some patterned shorts and a spot mesh pom pom tee! The tropical shorts (£35) are no surprise to me: Mollie has great legs, she loves her shorts! I see these looking amazing with a tan, and so will the ivory lacey tee (£35)! A very affordable outfit. 

This two-piece flare of floral is super sophisticated and so-very on trend! It's all about the matching separates! You can easily channel that inner-Californian girl of yours in this Palm Beach top (£32) and it's neighbouring shorts (also £32). The peachy-pink colour is bold and bright: perfect for this time of year! Each item can also be easily mixed and matched too! It isn't limited in any way, shape or form. 

Mollie's latest collection is the King of all celebrity clothing ranges. It is bright, bold and beautiful. On-trend, on-set and on-all things happy and amazing in life! Reasonably priced and extraordinarily stylish, I can honestly say -though I am yet to purchase something- I know that "something" I am going to get will be marvellous, like marvellous Mollie. 

Thank you Miss King. My summer wardrobe is sorted! On the downside, I'll be bankrupt quicker than you can say The Saturdays!
